Philosopher and professor C. Thi Nguyen has been on a tour this year talking about his (excellent) book The Score, but he’s been trapped… trapped in a prison of explaining games to well meaning podcast hosts. “Ah, yes, art in games. Like… Journey” I imagine they say smugly, then Thi graciously smiles saying “no, like in Bag On Your Head.” But what if instead of chatting on a podcast, he were to chat with the nyc experimental games scene???

Join us for an (interactive!) fireside chat with Thi about his philosophy work digging into games, metrics, yo-yoing, rock climbing, ttrpgs, aesthetics, fly fishing, Bernard Suits, and more. The Score is the best book I (me, Danny, hello!) have read on games in years. We’re going to hit the ground running and aim to really get into it, so anticipate a really rich conversation with Thi as well as well as a fun one!
